World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is the United Nations agency dedicated to the use of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, designs, copyright etc.) as a means of stimulating innovation and creativity.
This seminar is designed in a very practical manner, with a team of WIPO representatives covering the main functions that WIPO can fulfill for the benefit of stakeholders in Norway. It is an introduction to the essential services of WIPO in connection to a specific jurisdiction, and can therefore be regarded as complementary to more specific programs about services such as PCT, Madrid, etc. The seminar is divided into three sessions and you may attend as many as you want, whatever suits your day.
The seminar, organized jointly with the Norwegian Industrial Property Office, seeks direct interaction between WIPO and the local stakeholders. Many exciting developments are taking place in WIPO – ranging from the successful conclusion of different international instruments to the increasing refinement and enhancement of infrastructure and services.
The seminar offers an excellent opportunity to learn about the international layers of infrastructure, services and protection, which provide tools that are very useful for the effective operation of local companies in an increasingly internationalized economy.
The seminar is part of the programme for Oslo Innovation Week and will be streamed. Further details concerning streaming available soon.
This seminar targets a broad audience including corporations, lawyers, policy makers, academia, etc, but always with a focus on prospective users of WIPO services.
